The bikini wish list.

So Summer is not far away, especially with this predicted heatwave we're supposed to get. Many of you, like me will be lucky enough to be jetting off for a week or two and obviously you're going to need those all important bikinis. And even if you're not going on holiday this year, we all like a bit of back garden sunbathing don't we?

I've been scouring the internet for bikinis and swimwear to buy, and there are so many nice ones! Here are a few of my favourites.

I don't usually shop at Forever 21, mainly because I just don't have one anywhere near me, which is a  shame. Triangle shaped bikinis are my favourite and these two are pretty cheap! This second one also comes in about 8 different colours, so if you're shopping on a budget, this could be the one for you.

Now, I am primarily a bikini girl. I don't know why, I just don't really like swimsuits, bit like I hate bodysuits I guess. But there's something about this one! I'm definitely adding it to my holiday wish list.

I always love a bit of Missguided. If you're a bit conscious of your sides, this first one is a bit of a longline bikini and would make you feel a bit more comfy! I also love the colour of this second one, it's just so bright and out there, definitely one to get you noticed on the beach.

This first one is actually NewLook at Asos and is by my favourite New Look designer - Miss Kelly Brook. It just looks so fitted and comfy and supportive, which is unusual for quite a lot of bikinis nowadays. There's always that fear of falling out! The second bikini also looks quite supportive, although £60 is a bit steep for me.

Traingl mint bikini $89 

Triangl is so hot right now. I've seen so many bloggers featuring them! They look so so nice, plus it's in mint green, which is my go to shade at the moment. I'd love to get one, I just don't think I can justify spending that much on a bikini! Maybe one day..

Pastel perfect!

Bit of a late in the day post, written to you about bright colours whilst I watch the darkness that is Game of Thrones! Stupid Joffrey is annoying me again.. 

Anyways, finally, Spring is upon us, and that means the shops are filled with pretty pastels and florals (my next post) and I must say, I'm enjoying all of the brightness on the shelves.

Unfortunately, funds are so tight because of holiday saving I can't buy anything to show you, but of course I've been window shopping (well, can you call it window shopping if it's online? Browsing just doesn't sound as good…) and thought I'd show you all some of my top picks online for the pastel craze. 

The Scuba Skater Skirt £10, Woven shorts £10.50, Nude Pink mid-heels £17

My favourite of the three has to be the skirt, only £10 from Boohoo.com, they've done it again with their affordable on trend fashion! I'm not usually a fan of scuba skirts, I don't know why but this one is pretty lovely. It also comes in blue, blush and lilac, but I have a certain thing for mint coloured clothing at the moment. 

The shorts are so simple and yet, so pretty! As usual, Forever 21 gives us inexpensive items but at great quality, I mean a pair of shorts like this at somewhere like Dorothy Perkins and they'd cost you almost double! They look so light as well, definitely one to be adding to the holiday wish list!

I don't know what it is about these shoes (from NewLook @ASOS) but I just love them. I'm not usually a heel type of girl, to be perfectly honest, they hurt my feet and I'm much more comfort orientated with my shoes. But they are a mid-heel and they are pretty! I might just have to go and try them on if I see them in-store, girl's gotta have new shoes!

I love a good cami. It'll go with anything, they're light and ahh look it's mint! They do sell this swing style cami top in Boohoo for only £6, but the red one I bought sort of stretched after washing so it's gotten quite baggy, either that or I've lost weight (woo!). This one also comes in peach, which is another of my favourite spring colours.

This lace camisole dress is so gorgeous! It was £32 and is now reduced to £12, also comes in peach, but I just preferred the grey. Now I know what you're thinking, grey isn't really a pastel colour, but this is sort of a dusky looking grey so it sort of fits in. I'm currently torn between this and another dress that I want for my holiday.. I may just have to get both I think.. It's Greece, I'll need dresses!

This jumper is one for those early Spring days when it's not that cold to wear a jacket, but you still need a little something to cover your arms. Plus, it's fluffy, so come on, you know it's gonna be pretty darn cosy. It also comes in mint (of course it does), pink and lemon. 

River Island earrings £2, Miss Selfridge Petites nude blazer £39, TopShop crochet flower bracelet £8

Now, I don't have my ears pierced, which pains me, silly allergies, but I love looking at earrings. These little heart studs are so dainty and cute and at only £2 are a right steal! God, there's so much pastel green about, I love it!

The blazer, is a little pricey for my usual picks, I'll admit. But there's something about it that just makes me want to wear it everywhere. I love this blush sort of pink, it makes you look quite tanned and for a girl afraid of fake tan who has pale skin, that's a really good thing! Blazers are also a great staple item for your wardrobe and can be both dressed up and down, so are good for those chillier of Spring days.

I love crochet! I wish I could crotchet myself, but I just don't have the patience to learn something like that. At only £8, it's a bargain and would add something extra to any outfit. Sort of looks a little vintage as well, which is always a good thing.

Stone and Pink Winged Satchel bag £19.99

Last but not least, you may recognise this bag. It may have been featured on my blog before.. you got it? That's right it's my very own beloved winged satchel bag from New Look! I adore this bag, it's so stylish and goes with absolutely everything and is my everyday go to bag, the only problem is it's a tad awkward to get in and out of because of the clasps. Now of course I don't have this exact bag, I have the grey and black version, which don't get me wrong I love, but I kind of want this one now.. There are no rules about having the same bag twice right?

Steal her style - Jennifer Lawrence

Anybody who knows me quite well knows I am completely in love with Jennifer Lawrence. I mean who seriously trips up the stairs at the Oscars because she couldn't stop thinking about cake?!

She's done so much in the short time she's risen to fame and seeing as how she's such an amazing woman, with an amazing sense of style I thought I'd do a quick profile on her and some of the outfits I've loved on her.

This red maxi dress was the one she wore to the 2011 Oscars, made by Calvin Klein. I love how she could go to something so Hollywood and posh and get away with a simple red maxi dress! I couldn't quite find one the same but the similar (above) is from Asos and comes in at only £55. I know I wouldn't look as amazing as her in it, but a girl can dream! 

I love this green dress on her, it really suits her skin tone. I don't know who this dress is by, but she wore it to the Hunger games signing back in March 2012. I think this dress, again from Asos is quite a similar copy, especially with the plunging neckline! It comes in at only £65 so is quite a steal for such a beautiful piece.

It's similar to an outfit I saw in H&M's store window last week, only that was with a white blazer, which, in my opinion would brighten up the outfit a little. Jumping on the Christmas Jumper train.

Christmas jumpers are a huge trend this year. Gone are the days of those embarrassing hand knitted christmas jumpers from some distant aunt or your gran that you only begrudgingly wear on Christmas day so as not to hurt their feelings. Everybody seems to want one! I've seen so many people wandering around with giant robins or reindeers on their knitwear, that I thought I'd have a look around and I've featured my favourite finds of the internet. 

I think some of them can be a tad gaudy and tacky looking, but these are ones that aren't too in your face, and are still Christmassy. I think my favourites have to be the reindeer one from New Look and the Penguin one from Dorothy Perkins. Unfortunately, I haven't actually been able to purchase one yet, due to spending a bit too much on people for Christmas and then purchasing my Miley Cyrus tickets for my friend's birthday next year! (I know, I know, but I still love her! She may be my guilty pleasure..)

Treat yourself.. You know you want to!

So with Christmas just around the corner (yes that's going to be mentioned a lot, I'm a kid when it comes to Christmas time, especially now I have one!) the discounts are in full swing online. 

I know you're probably all really busy with buying your friends and families presents and might not have any money to spare, but if you're anything like me, when you see that big 'Sale' or 'Up to such and such % off' you need to go check it out. 

I've been getting emails left right and centre from lots of different clothing sites luring me to their savings and here are my top five including some peaks at what's on offer!

River Island.

Up to 20% off all jewellery. 

Starting with the smaller of the discounts (but by no means to be overlooked) is the River Island up to 20% off all jewellery. The necklace was originally £7 down to £5.60. A small saving, but every little helps! I love this necklace, and as I'm not a fan of those huge statement necklaces, I still like to have a bit of sparkle (what girl doesn't?) and this necklace is so pretty! The earrings were £3 reduced to £2.40, which yes, I know isn't the biggest of savings, but they're so dainty and would just add something extra to your outfit. 

Asos

up to 30% off party wear

As you can probably guess, the majority of the sales and discounts floating about lately are for party wear, which makes sense with the all important New Year's Eve parties creeping up on us. I thought I'd pick two items that could actually be a whole outfit. The playsuit by Little Mistress was £48 reduced to £38, giving a pretty good saving. I love the fact it has sleeves, I will never understand those girls who go out in the dead of winter with barely nothing on and no coat or jacket! Although it's pretty plain and black, the little embellishment on the shoulder gives it a little sparkle. The heels by Blink were £55 reduced to £28. I like the subtle silver floral design on the heels which I'm assuming would look great when they catch the light.

Topshop

up to 30% off party wear and jersey basics

Again another party wear discount to the same amount as Asos. They didn't have much in the way of dresses in the party wear section which I thought was a little strange, maybe I'm just more of a fan of dresses for parties.. Anyway, I found this lovely pair of blue embellished side shorts with sort of a chiffon overlay. They were £45 now £30 so quite a good saving, although to me £30 on one pair of shorts is a bit much. The one dress I did like was this lovely blush lace floral dress. It is sort of a spring dress, but pastel colours are still in for winter, so why not? It was £49 reduced to £32 so not bad really! 

The other savings they're offering is on jersey basics. There wasn't much I was all too fond of, but I did like this burgundy long sleeved top which was already a good price of £18 reduced to an even better £12! I'm always on the lookout for thinner jumper type layers to wear over vest tops and I love this! The dress is also quite plain, and some of you may be thinking that it is way too cold to be wearing in this weather, but with a leather jacket a thick scarf, tights and some ankle boots, you'd be just as warm as in leggings! It was £12 now only £8 so I think I may have to look out for this on sunday.

 New Look 

up to 25% off coats and boots

I always love New Look's boots, so when they have sales on them I have to check them out. This pair of grey, low wedge lace-up boots are pretty similar to a pair of black wedges I bought last year and are so so comfortable my mum's bought me a brown pair for Christmas this year! This particular pair was £24.99 reduced to £18.74 which is pretty good for shoes these days! The over the knee boots are similar to a pair of Kelly Brook boots that my friend fell in love with a couple months back, but with a chunkier heel. They were £39.99 reduced to £29.99 so still a bit pricey, but I'm sure they'd be worth it! 

The Leather biker jacket rears it's head again! Even though I have one, I still find myself lusting over pretty much every one I see online.. I don't know why. This one was £39.99 down to £29.99 which is really cheap even for a leather-look! The navy toggle coat is another that's not usually my style, but caught my eye. I'm happy with both my coats, I have the short leather jacket one and a longer one, so I won't start hoarding them, but if I hand't already bought my long black mac then I'd probably be getting this coat. It was £34.99 reduced to £26.24.

Miss Selfridge

up to 30% off everything!

Ah Miss selfridge you have to stop doing this to me! I love all three of these items and if the majority of my bank balance wasn't spent on Christmas presents in Leicester yesterday, they'd already be on their way to me! The Distressed dark wash jeans are down to only £26 from £38, I don't know what it is about ripped jeans, I've always loved them ever since that pair that Peyton used to live in on One Tree Hill caught my eye. The beautiful embellished cami top is £28.80 reduced from £32. It's not the biggest saving, and being the most expensive of the three, naturally I want it the most. If I try it on in-store and fall in love with it, maybe I can figure out a way to not feel guilty about buying it! The floral scarf  is only £11.20 reduced from £16! I did actually see this online about a week ago and I'm always funny about buying scarves online due to not knowing how big they'll be. I bought a scarf from internacionale a while back and it was so tiny I couldn't even tie it round my neck! Despite this, I did actually see it in-store yesterday and it's perfect! I did ponder over it for a good five minutes… maybe on sunday? 

I'm going to stop rambling now before I talk myself into placing an order online!

Christmas Gift guide 2013

Here it is as promised, my christmas gift guide for this year!

I realise that it's only what, 22 days until Christmas day now? But even still, I've been horribly unorganised this year with my gift buying and still have a huge list of things I need to get people! If you're stuck what to get a girlfriend or friend or even just a little treat for yourself then I hope this will give you a few ideas!

Under £10

First up is the beauty for under £10, these items are perfect for little stocking fillers and are all really friendly on the old purse strings. The Maybelline Colour show kit is a perfect little gift if you want to get something but don't have that much money. It's only £7.99 for the kit and contains three lovely colours that are huge this season, I'm especially in love with that burgundy red..

Next is the Sweet snuggles bath fizzers from Superdrug and only cost £2.50! I'm a huge fan of all the Lush bath bombs and fizzers, but find that they're sometimes so expensive for what they actually are and I have to really have the money spare to feel okay about buying them. This trio is a cheaper alternative and come in some pretty cool colours!

Third is the Anatomicals 'fine stress we've gotten you out of' relaxing bath kit available at Tesco for only £6.50. I love all the names for their products, although they're quite long they are memorable and a bit funny which is always a good thing. The kit contains a tub of bath salts, a thermal face mask, inflatable bath pillow and candle, which if you ask me, for £6.50 is pretty darn good!

So I've just realised that this post is going to be quite a long one, so I apologise if I drone on a bit! This is the top three fashion gifts under £10. I have a huge addiction to scarves come winter time and this Deana star scarf from Boohoo.com is so pretty I may need to add it to my collection! It's only £6 and also comes in grey if the blue doesn't do it for you. There are so many scarves about this winter I think I'm going to end up bombarded with them! The Heart print touchscreen gloves from George are another bargain at only £5. I've always been a bit skeptical about these touchscreen gloves, my phone is terribly sensitive and picky and doesn't like to work with my actual fingers sometimes so I don't know how it would react to these! Even if they didn't work, they're still a pretty cute pair of gloves. This Golden triangle necklace from New Look is my favourite of the the three, I just love the simplicity of it and necklaces are always a welcome gift for me. It's only £5.99 so I may be asking for this to magically appear in my stocking this year!

Under £30

If you have a little more to spend then these will be right up your alley. The Nivea pampered skin ultimate collection is only £15 and I think it's a Boots exclusive (I couldn't find it anywhere else). You get two honey face masks, the nivea pearly shine lip balm, body lotion, facial cleansing wipes, hand lotion and the soft moisturising day cream (as featured in my Time to prime, moisturise and shine post). All this for £15 is pretty good and I think it'd a great little gift, the packaging is pretty too! Next is one on my own Christmas wish list; the Real Techniques 'sam's picks' brush set which I found whilst browsing Lookfantastic's website. It's right under the £30 price tag at £29.99, but considering these brushes range from £7 upwards, that's not a bad price. In the kit you'll get a multi tasking brush (for powder, blush and bronzer), a setting brush (for controlling powder and highlighter), buffing brush (full coverage of powder and mineral foundation) pointed foundation brush, essential crease brush (perfect for contouring the eyes) and a fine liner brush (for liquid and cream eyeliners). 

Last is the Benefit world famous neutrals from the feelunique website. It's only £23.50, which for benefit is good! It's got two cream eyeshadows and four powders, so something for everyone.

So, naturally I was scouring New Look's website when researching for this gift guide and I found quite a lot of lovely bits and pieces. This Pink and white fairisle prancing deer jumper is only £27.99 and is one of the nicest Christmas jumpers I've seen. I hate the ones that are so vibrant and in your face, I just know I'd be wasting my money on them, whereas this one, I think I'd actually wear throughout the winter. You may also remember I was moaning on about how I couldn't find a good sized winged bag a couple of months ago, so of course I was instantly in love with this colour block winged satchel from New Look and at only £19.99, I may have convinced my mum to get me it for christmas! It's killing me to know it's sat up in her wardrobe and I have to wait another month for it! Lastly in the under £30 is this funky little pair of knitted snowman slippers from River Island. You know how people buy a new pair of gloves every winter because they're bored of their old ones? I do that with slippers. I love slippers, especially the boot style ones. These are only £17 so the cheapest of the three and they are so cute!

£30 and over

Naturally the NAKED palette had to be on this list, the amount I've been banging on about it lately. The most expensive on the whole gift guide is this Clinique part favours set coming in at £55 from Boots. Included is:

• Limited Edition All About Shadow Compact in Crystal Pink, Hazy, Raspberry Beret and Chocolate Covered Cherry, 4.8 g
• Quickliner for Eyes Intense Black Honey, .14 g
• Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour in Roundest Raspberry, 3 g
• A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins in Cosmo Chic, 5ml

And it all comes in a pretty little pink and purple bag! If you love Clinique and have the money to spare, why not treat yourself? 

One thing I've seen on quite a few other beauty blogging pages is the Nails Inc Polish Diary which is only £42 at Feelunique (it retails at around £132 apparently so it's a bargain!). You get a different colour nail varnish for every month of the year, so you don't have to worry about what colours to paint your nails! And it all comes in a sophisticated little box booklet.

Of course I had to add some more knitwear and a jacket to the collection. This Burgundy Military coat from Missguided isn't usually my style, but it just looks so chic, I wouldn't object to having it in my wardrobe. It's £34.99 so pretty average for a good coat these days, which isn't too bad. The Asos embroidered collar top caught my eye while scrolling through their site. It's £36 so a little pricey but worth it. It also comes in white and I think the sheer material just makes it look so classy and would be a great little piece to wear to that all important Christmas party! The Fluffy polar bear jumper is £32 from NEXT. I'm not usually a big fan of adult clothes from next (I love them for Tayla's clothes, just wish they were cheaper!) but this polar bear jumper just looks so cosy. Like the pink jumper above, it's another one that you could wear all throughout winter, not just at Christmas time!

The LBD - every girl's must have wardrobe piece

Can you believe it's only six and a half weeks until Christmas?! With that in mind, many of us have Christmas parties and work dos and then even the New Year's Party coming up! So I thought I'd scour the internet and show you eight of my favourite pieces I've found. Granted most of them are a little pricey, but they're sure to get you noticed and you can't put a price on that kiss under the mistletoe now can you?

My favourite of these is probably the one from AX Paris, I just love the classiness of it, although I don't think the neckline would suit me. It also comes in black and green, but in my opinion, this one is the better of the two. The one from Missguided is probably more of a party/clubbing sort of dress, but would look great with some killer black heels and a little white sparkly clutch. The other two are pretty plain in style, but I love the little touches of gold in the baroque detailing and across the bust area on the maxi. I've always loved grecian style dresses, always look so elegant.

These are the more shorter party dresses although the one from New Look is pretty classy and would work well for a Christmas party.  I used to have a dress similar to this, but the sleeves always bugged me. I'm not really one for long sleeves, get too hot, but the dress is really pretty. I love the cut out shoulder dress from Daisy Street, I've never shopped here before, only found it via Unidays and it's an online store pretty similar to Missguided. I like the fit of it as well as the sheer material in the drop, just makes it a bit unique. The popcorn skater dress from select is quite pretty and good for those of you who want a simple black dress, but would like to incorporate a bit of sparkle into their outfit. The only one I am a little disappointed about it the beaded bodice dress from Miss Selfridge, but only because the black one only seems to be in petite sizes. You can get it in silver in normal sizes, so at least there's that!  

So there you have it, my top picks for the special Little Black Dress for the party season. I like the different styles out there this year and it's good that the shops are adding a bit of sparkle and colour into their LBD's. What little black dresses have you been lusting over lately?

A/W 13 the edit: Bags

Sorry I didn't post this yesterday had a bit of a 'me day' which really just means I took Tayla to nursery then had a not particularly girly afternoon of playing the Xbox, (not playing GTAV like the majority of the world though!) we've all got to love a little gaming now and again. Spent the last week taking note of all the bags I've seen that have caught my eye and have a selection of Saves and Splurges for you all!

The Satchel.

Satchels as you all may know have been huge this year! I've seen them in every colour, every size and they go with everything! I love this Dorothy Perkins monochrome structured satchel and at only £22 it's a complete steal. All the monochrome going around lately is great as it will go well with any outfit any day of the week. This bright pink satchel isn't quite as well put with everything, but it would add a little colour pop to your outfit if you weren't too comfortable with wearing brighter colours in your clothing. It does come in a range of different colours though if the pink isn't your thing.

The Tote.

Okay so this Ted Baker tote is really pricey, but I loved the snakeskin detailing and the winged effect is really common in loads of designs at the moment. Although it's expensive, I do think it's a wardrobe staple that would be here to stay, used for every occasion. I do love River Island's bag range, I always have. The blocks of colour on the bag make it stand out but the black and cream stop it from being so in your face.

The Clutch.

Now every girl needs a great clutch bag for those nights on the town. Snakeskin detailing seems to be another thing that's everywhere at the moment and I have a thing for cobalt blue. I'm not a huge fan of the clutch bag if I'm honest, I hate having to hold onto it tightly the whole time I'm out for fear of the contents flying out when I'm dancing, but this one from New Look has an optional chain strap which I like. The more pricey option caught my eye again because of the pink. Both of these bags demonstrate the colour block trend and just how huge it really is. I will admit it was quite hard to find a really expensive clutch bag that I actually liked, due to the majority being that horrible one that resembles a glasses case (you know the one I mean, with the awkward clasp at the top that is just waiting to break a nail). 

The Bowler.

Yep, more pink, I do apologise for those of you who don't like it! I had never actually heard of this site before, I ended up just typing bowler bags into google as I couldn't find any I liked on my usual sites and found this one! I like the gold stud detailing and how you have the option for a long strap or a shorter one. I don't necessarily think I'd buy this bag, just because it's so so pink, and I don't entirely know what it would go with, but I do love it. Ahh the splurge. I love Vivienne Westwood, as soon as I hear the name I see that dress Carrie Bradshaw almost got hitched in in Sex and the City.. ah dream dress... Anyway, enough drooling. I love the pastel blue colour of this bag as I've read that pastels are going to be carrying us into the Autumn this year. If I had the money to splash out there would be no stopping me buying this bag.

The Cross Body.

More colour blocks! But it's not pink this time. Bright pillar box red is another colour I've seen creeping back in, but mainly in accessories or that perfect red lip that everyone is on the lookout for. Although this is similar to the clutch bag above, I think this one is a little bigger and I'd more likely use it for daytime or a special occasion such as a wedding. Okay, now this DKNY bag is tiny (despite the fact it is apparently an across body bag). It's really tiny, you'd probably fit nothing in it and it would not be an everyday essential I'm afraid, but I just love it. It's the plum! So in for this season and it's so cute with the quilted pattern and the gold chain effect. I wouldn't buy it, just because I'd be afraid of it sitting in the back of my wardrobe gathering dust, but it's pretty darn lovely.
