Fitness Friday!

If you're one of those people who don't really like reading about fitness and such and prefer my fashion posts, that's cool, you don't have to read, but for those of you who don't mind, read ahead! :)

Since January I've been going to the gym, trying to eat healthy and generally been trying to have an all around better lifestyle. I did actually start this healthy kick in order to slim down and tone up for my holiday in June, but I actually love exercising! I never ever thought I'd say that. I mean, I'm a girl who loves to sit on her ass munching an entire pick and mix and binge watching a TV series. But I do love exercise!

Well, when I say I love exercise, I mean I love the gym. I know you get those people who are literally addicted to going and go everyday and then you get those people, guys mostly who like only train their arms and end up looking like lightbulbs, but there are those normal people who just go in, do their workout and go home and enjoy an everyday life!
I've not actually lost any weight as such since January, but I actually got banned from weighing myself by my trainer and I ended up not caring anymore. I haven't actually measured myself in a few weeks, but last time I did I'd lost at least half an inch from everywhere and lost an inch around my bum! So trust me when I say; The scales do not matter!! You could be heavier than when you started working out and actually look and feel healthier and thinner (if that's what you're going for), it's muscle weight girls!
Now I know a lot and I mean a LOT of women seem to think if they go to the gym and start lifting weights they'll end up looking like a bodybuilder, but that's so wrong! You just tone up, I mean nobody really wants bingo wings now do they?

Since I started I've actually gotten a hell of a lot stronger and I didn't even realise. I, as I've mentioned do have a personal trainer who I see once a week, and he's helped me so much and I don't think I'd feel as good without him, but if you can't afford one, that's fine. You just have to be motivated. If you're motivated you can do anything you set your mind to!
In January, 10kg squats were killing me and I'm now up to 30kg easily, which, I might add doesn't sound like much, but it's half my body weight which impresses me quite a bit! Squats are my favourite exercise mine you. Also, when I started the gym I was used to only my baby (and I mean baby, Tayla often tries to run off with them) 1kg hand weights that really don't do anything. I'm now up to about 15-25kg with my upper body, depending on the exercise, but I have quite weak arms to be honest so that doesn't bother me.

Of course, you can't just exercise alone and expect to see a difference you do unfortunately have to eat healthily. That doesn't mean that you have to wake up and eat a lettuce leaf, or live solely on vegetables. There are plenty of amazing recipes that are so healthy and taste so so good! Plus, we all deserve a cheat day, I'm sat writing this after a chippy and some chocolate. See? It's fine to eat what you want every now and then!

My chocolate raspberry lava cake - only 178 calories!

If you've always wanted to start the gym, and have been intimidated, or have no idea what to do, just try it. Trust me, I was petrified, I was googling all around to try and find out Gym Etiquette and what exercises to do. And to be honest, I would recommend a personal trainer, even just for your first session, although most gyms offer an induction service where you can get a personal one on one session with an instructor and they'll write up a personal plan for you. I know it looks daunting, but it's not as scary as you think, just give it a go, you might love it!

I haven't posted any personal pictures of myself, purely because I'm writing this post on a whim and I am having a very lazy day and have not showered.. we all have pyjama days now and then! :) If people like the post, I'll try and pluck up the courage to post some progress pics next time.

Hope you enjoyed my little fitness update, I enjoyed sharing it with you and if you'd like to read more then let me know!
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram for all things fitness, I'm always posting my food and stuff on there!

Have a great weekend everyone!
xo.

P.s. As a side note, I'm not trying to get you to go to the gym, I'm not saying you need to, you're all amazing just the way you are and if you are happy in your own skin that's amazing, just sharing my opinions and advice for anyone looking for it! x.o.

Life Update!

I've been away for a while, so I thought I'd give you a little life update. Would have been posting more often but I've been so busy with interning and also my computer decided that it would have a bit of a wobbly moment which resulted in having to get an entire new trackpad meaning I was a week without my Mac! Almost killed me I'll tell you!

Tayla's getting to be a right little madam! Only three years old and going about 15! I don't know how you women out there have two of them, I take my hat off to you. Well, I would if I had a hat on.. thank god it's nearly summer. I can't wait for the long summer days where I can finally crack out the shorts again, although I have the palest legs every and fake tan looks awful on me so it's not the most amazing of sights..
Luckily, the weather has been picking up lately so we've been able to go outside! My brother's currently landscaping the garden so we don't have much grass and room to play but the playhouse is finally in! Got to love the afternoons of playing big bad wolf and blowing bubbles :).
I haven't really been buying much in the way of fashion/beauty products lately, I just don't have the money! I tell you, trying to save up over £400 before June is not an easy task. I've been frantically looking for a job to earn some extra cash, but that along with the HypeBadger site, Tayla and uni work I haven't had time for much in the way of free time. I did however get to go to the beautiful Alexandra Palace (or 'Ally Pally' as it's called!) at the beginning of March to see Bastille! That is Dan there in the bottom middle picture, as blurry as he is. I love love love Bastille and was so glad I got to see them again, despite the fact I could barely see and we had to queue outside for over 5 hours in the freezing cold.

Another thing I've been really into lately is baking. I've always loved cooking and considering how hard it is to eat healthily when you have a gigantic sweet tooth, I've been trying to find some good recipes for a few healthy snacks and cakes. I am absolutely addicted to these cookies (above) the chocolate ones taste just like a brownie and are pretty much just oats and cocoa powder! I've been thinking about posting a few recipes and such on here considering I can't really afford much in the way of new products to show you all. What do you think?

Anyways, that's pretty much been my life over the last few weeks, what have you all been up to?
Would love to hear below!

Long time no see!

First off let me apologise for the severe lack in posts last month! I seemed to have just lost my writing mojo, anyone who writes will have experienced writer's block at some point and although blogging isn't necessarily the same as writing a novel or such, I can definitely relate! I've either been busy, ill, or just couldn't think of anything to write so nothing was posted, seems I'm always blooming ill, joys of having kids, ey?
Anyways thought I'd give you a little life update before I start bombarding you with my make up and shopping addictions again, although I haven't been able to buy a great deal due to it being Christmas just over a month away! Scary how fast the year's gone don't you think?

Pretty much my last month! First of all might be wondering about the frog.. It was all quiet, a nice normal day and suddenly Tayla calls me to the bathroom and tells me there's a frog in the hallway, and of course I didn't believe her as she goes on about random things all the time and low and behold there was a frog just casually hopping across the carpet. Silly thing decided to hide behind the TV and I ended up spending a good half hour trying to catch it.
Halloween was great, dressed Tayla as a cute little witch and took her trick or treating for the first time :). Her hat was flying off because of the wind and she kept almost setting her broom alight with people's pumpkins but it was mostly a success!
I was away for the weekend in Derby at my friend's Uni for Halloween and went as a dead pirate as you can see above (sort of). Managed to make a really good bruised eye look with my MUA eyeshadows and the Barry M sparkle dust. Damn fake blood took ages to come off, but it looked pretty real so that's a plus I suppose.
Also had a shopping trip on Saturday (didn't buy much but will post that later on) and went to the best restaurant ever. Heavenly Desserts in Derby is just literally a whole book of different desserts. It's not too expensive but at £5.90 a slice of cheesecake it's definitely a treat. We ended up not eating an actual meal so got four desserts! The cookie dough there is literally to die for. Probably one of the best things I've ever had. If you're ever in Derby, check it out, it's a must.

Ah got another tattoo as well, I'm rapidly getting more of an addiction to it, I'm on my 6th getting my 7th on Saturday.. Ah well, I love them! Today's Tayla's 3rd birthday (I can't believe I have a three year old already!!) and since she's off to school today the parents and I took her down to see my Nan in Southampton on Sunday and she had a lovely day at Peppa Pig World :). Tonight we're having our own fireworks night using the ones left over from last New years, that I'm praying will still be okay!

Hope you've all had a great couple of weeks and I shall post some purchases later on while Tayla's at school!
XO.
